Kinks and curls

I have my mother's kinks and my father's curls; I have African blood running through my veins and Afro-eccentric features. I have Harriet Tubman's bravery and Rosa Parks' stubbornness; who are you to tell me that black is not beautiful when an entire history is represented through my skin and a beautiful crown residing on top of my head that defies the laws of gravity?

weave

As a black girl, people expect me to wear weave, wigs, or braids as a form of protective style and at some point, I did love all of these except weave because that took away all of my edges. But the question remains do I love extensions?

Dear fall,

You are one of my favorite seasons, thank you for cooling the air after the heat. Your pumpkin spice warms my heart and sweetened my tongue. The leaves fall so that we can start anew. Like you I will fall and rise up again each year.

afro girl

Currently, I have a wig covering up my beautiful afro and I have not put a wig on my head in months, needless to say, I don't like it and I really miss my afro. To answer the question of whether or not I like wigs? nope, not anymore! but I still love braids because I still feel like a black girl in braids but in a wig, I feel like a wannabe caucasian woman.

Honestly, I think 4C hair is just so beautiful and I know that if most girls had a chance to choose what time of hair they could have most of them or maybe all of them would not pick 4C hair as their hair type. Me personally I have 4C hair mixed with 4B and I love it! 4C hair is so versatile and although it does shrink a lot more than other hair types but when it sits on top of your hair it looks so majestic! you are representing your African roots, and you are representing an entire history with your hair. Having 4C hair is not that simple! having African descant hair is way more than you think!

The great Michael Jackson

The name speaks for itself, there is nothing else that needs to be said. He is my favorite all time singer, performer and dancer! what can I say he was just simply magical. He is still making an impact on a lot of people; he is gone but not forgotten. Will love him forever, I cried when he died it was just so sad and I couldn't believe it! the internet even crashed because everyone else could not believe it either.

" Some people are not able to feel anything towards anyone and perhaps they are psychopaths, but I feel privileged to feel so much love for you even if you might not feel the same."

Jennifer Beals in Flash dance from 1983

I love what she is wearing and her character was just so elegant, sexy and masculine at the same time that it was just sooo beautiful. I can watch that movie over and over again without ever getting bored; I loved the movies in the 1980's a lot.

 Visuals

Black women are just so majestic with their heads full of hair, we are hardworking and so passionate about our cause, we deserve the most beautiful things. But the most mistreated beings in America is the black woman and the black man!
