Our story (fiction) 

 We would talk, he explained how he was emotionally exhausted, things were bad for him. He would say these things sincerely, but when we were together, alone, neither of us were exhausted. We were electrified. We would talk what felt like a mile a minute. I could tell when he was becoming relaxed talking with me because his pronunciation would be less stressed, and his beautiful accent would be more pronounced. English was his second language, he spoke it perfectly in normal conversation, but when we were together, he knew he could put his guard down, and I have always been a sucker of an accent. When he did speak with that accent, it was like something being removed between us, like a warm breath on my neck, a finger down my spine, like shivering with warmth, can't explain it.

And we would just talk about everyday things, and I would look into his  wide and beautiful eyes and watch his luscious lips and for waayyy too long, and I would have to tare my gase from his. Force myself deliberately look anywhere but those eyes before I fell into them. Look away or look foolish. And he would see that. And I knew he did. And that was the game we played.

Until one night, when I tried to look away he quickly snatched my chin with his soft long alabaster fingers and gently pointed my face to his, and asked “why is it when I want you to see me the most you look away?” I froze. We played this game and we knew how it was supposed to be played, but now he broke the rules. And doing so, all of the flirtatious looks, all the things said jokingly but not joking, the glances too long, accidently touching,…It broke the rules and the pretending was gone and we where stripped of the vail of it being a game anymore…and words meant nothing anymore, just me, him, locked eyes and silence that couldn't be broken with words, both of us more vulnerable in front of another human being then either of have been in years.

Staring into each other's eyes in this room where only we existed, I put my hand on the smoothest, warmest cheek - my fingers intertwined with his , back to the curve of his neck, I gently pull his spellbinding face towards mine, paused, felt his warmth breath took in  with mine, and leaned in until our lips touched…
