I'VE always wanted to lock my hair when I turn 30 years old but now that I'll be 30 in just a few years maybe I'll do it when I am 40 years old. But it's my dream to do it.

I love me some cute box braids because they are a great protective style to retain length if you want to grow your hair. It doesn't matter if you hair is not in braids it will grow regardless but having a protective style will help to keep the length in your hair because you are not detangling your hair so the length will remain which is why you see your hair longer when you take out the braids. But if you are not careful while detangling your hair after you take the braids out all your new growth will break off. If you leave the braids longer than 4-6 weeks they will start to loc up and become matted which is bad if you want to grow your hair long and healthy.
use protective styling with caution because you can do more damage than good if you are not careful.
